The Nollywood icon, Amaka Igwe is dead. She reportedly passed on last night, April 28, 2014 after battling with asthma attack. She was known for some of the popular sitcoms and TV soap opera which include ‘Fuji House of Commotion’ and ‘Checkmate’.
President of the Actors Guild of Nigeria, Ibinabo Fiberesima confirmed this with a ‘Yes” response in a phone call with Best of Nollywood and ended the call abruptly.
Uche jumbo has confirmed it too via a tweet that reads “sad sad sad day, may God console your family, a great filmaker gone”
Amaka, who hailed from Obinagu, Enugu, Nigeria is survived by her husband and kids.
Until her death, Amaka Igwe was aged 60.
