Wenger To Rest Stars Ahead Of Liverpool FA Cup Tie

Arsenal Manager Arsene Wenger is ready to risk the anger of Arsenal fans by resting key players for the FA Cup clash with Liverpool in the hope of beating Bayern Munich in the Champions League.

Gunners’ fans believe that the FA Cup represents the club’s best chance of a trophy this season, with the Premier League title slipping away and the European clash with Bayern looking extremely difficult.

But Wenger does not agree and he is poised to rest several stars for the Liverpool clash on Sunday, in the hope of having a fresh squad to take on Bayern.

According to the London local media, the Frenchman will consider resting Wojciech Szczesny, Olivier Giroud, Mesut Ozil and Mikel Arteta, while youngsters like Serge Gnabry and Carl Jenkinson along with fringe stars Nicklas Bendtner and Lukasz Fabianski set to play.

The news comes just days after Arsenal were thrashed by Liverpool at Anfield with a full strength eleven on the pitch.
