Lecturer arrested over alleged rape In Kogi


A principal officer of the Academic Staff Universities Union (ASUU), Kogi State University, Anyigba, has been arrested by Kogi State Police command over allegation of rape and cult- related activities on the campus.


Findings revealed that of recnt, the suspect has been very notorious in the act of raping and giving students cover in the most inhuman act of cultism which has given the citadel of higher learning and research, a very bad impression.

The senior lecturer cum union leader (names witheld), was picked up by the police in Anyigba, the university town following a petition written against him by some persons at the university community over his nefarious activities.

He was detained for two days at the Criminal Investigation Department, CID Kogi Police Command, Lokoja but was later granted bail to return on the 7th of July,2014, to face his charges.

When our correspondent contacted the Public Relation Officer, PRO of the institution, Mr. Joseph Edegbo, he promised to get back to the reporter but several calls to his line were not responded to, as he was no longer picking his cell phone till press time.
