A Nigerian Customs officer known as Mr Nwaeze has been allegedly attacked a woman with acid after an argument over money, Sahara Reporters reports. Nwanze, said to head a Customs unit at Mosafejo Aradagun in Lagos, is said to have boasted that he is “above arrest” after bathing Fadipe with the deadly solution.

The victim is a salesgirl in a local food store run by Mwaeze’s family, she had worked for them for over three years before the incident.

The customs officer reportedly did not feel any remorse after attacking his victim about two weeks ago, he is quoted as boasting he “can do and undo.”

The argument ensued in Friday, May 9, 2014 after the salesgirl was accused of not remitting about N50,000 of her sales, which she denied and argued her defense.

According to reports, Nwaeze got upset with her defense and allegedly poured the acid on her body.

Sources say the matter was reported at the Badagry Police Station, and on May 10, 2014, just a day after the incident Nwaeze appeared at the police station only to return home shortly after to prove his statement that he is above arrest.

Residents on his street say Nwanze has been showing off since the incident on May 9, saying he turns on his radio volume very high when he’s driving in the streets.

A resident said he uses his status as a customs officer to “intimidate and oppress people with impunity.

The victim, who was rushed to Badagry General Hospital since the incident, is being treated for severe burns. Doctor say her condition is deteriorating.

Saharareporters learned through a medical source that the customs officer is trying to secretly collect Fadipe from the hospital, without giving off any hint what he wants to do with her.
